I’m happy to report I’ve been running around like a headless poussin for the past two days. Happy, because that means there was lots of new performance metal to see at the Paris motor show and there are going to be plenty of exciting group tests in the next 12 months of evo.
Struggling to whittle down the highlights, I thought it would be fun to share the quick-snap opinions I formulated as I scampered around the show. So, in five words or fewer, here’s MY Paris show…
Range Rover: way too fat
Jaguar F-type: worth the wait. Love it
Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo: flipping ace. The default Panamera
Kia Proceed: nice, but looks like Astra
Ford Mondeo: unfeasibly good looking
Ford Ecosport: unfeasibly naff. Daihatsu Terios-like
Mini Paceman: ugliest car here. Not cool
Peugeot Onyx (above): proper concept car p*rn
Peugeot RCZ R: could finally top the TT
Renaultsport Clio 200 Turbo: can’t wait to drive it
Nissan Juke Nismo: hot hatch dark horse
Vauxhall Adam: trying too hard…
SEAT Leon FR: …must try harder
VW Golf GTI: just spot on. Again
Mercedes SLS Electric: best colour scheme ever
McLaren P1 (below): undisputed show star. Lewis who?
