For as long as we have eBay, we'll never be short of laughs. The disparity between what a seller thinks that something is worth - and what a rational person thinks it's likely to actually fetch - is a source of endless comedy, especially when it comes to cars with a peripheral claim to fame.

With that in mind, check out this Chrysler 300C V8 that was once driven by none other than US president Barack Obama. You'll have to be quick, though - there are only 11 hours remaining as I write this. Oh, and you'll need to have deep pockets, too, because the connection to the current Commander-in-Chief means that it's got a starting bid of - and I need my Dr. Evil voice for this one -  one million dollars.

Of course, it's always possible that somebody will be mad enough to stump up the asking price. Stranger things have happened, as the seller helpfully points out in the listing - somebody paid $244,000 for Pope Benedict's former Mk4 VW Golf a few years ago. 

But closer examination of the listing, and the badly scanned vehicle title, reveals that the 300C's Obama connection is perhaps not as solid as the seller would have you believe. The 300C belonged to a US fleet leasing company and Barack was the registered keeper. It's a decent connection, but you'd have to have a deep and unhealthy obsession with sharing the same seat leather as the presidential buttocks to think that's worth a seven-figure pricetag. Especially as, these days, Obama seems to be more of a Ford man...

For a bit of perspective, consider the fate of Tony Blair's former Chrysler Voyager. After he stepped down as PM in 2007 the MPV found itself unceremonially auctioned off - with the winning bid of £4150 being slightly less than its official trade price at the time.
