BITCOIN

This Wired.co.uk article is a week old, so probably already out of date (well, it definitely is as to prices).

But interesting, anyway. The conclusion being that investors now are sheep who think they're cleverer than some other sheep.

That's pretty much the definition of the stock exchange, too, tbh.

At least with shares you have part ownership of a company - something tangible, whose fortunes you can follow based on their real-world relevance and presence.

Having re-watched Trading Places at the weekend, I was tempted to draw comparison with pork bellies but even they have innate value. Maybe diamonds are a better analog; yet even they have intrinsic value for drills, boring machines etc.

Wow was I impressed

Thoughts on lending platforms like bitconnect and the like?

Looks good until they get shut down / hacked / go out of business.

We should have a single, ongoing, number plate spotted thread.

Yes, don't use Bitconnect.

F*ck the internet, I was doing this My Way.

I've just been reminded that Lily Allen turned down a gig in 2009 that offered to pay her in £200K of Bitcoins

Which would be worth £1.9bn today

I switched from BitCoin to BitCoin cash yesterday, that went very well.

NB. In true gambler style I won't be crowing then it takes a nose dive however.

Genuine question, was your move due to the fat that you could not liquidate into cash quick enough ?

No. I felt Bitcoin had plateaued at least for now and went to look at other BitCoin derived cryptos with sizaeable marketcap but had yet to go crazy in price. Verge coin is a similar one

OK thanks

I've sacked off Litecoin (+£17, pure luck) and waiting for Bit Cash to reopen this afternoon.

Anyone getting twitchy??

"You're right Dinny"

Analysts say it could easily bounce back.

Or stay the same.

Or decline further.

More insights. As they happen.
