After my recent car hunt (not yet over) I have realised that car engines are like b00bs. It seems like the bigger the engine, the better the car. And given a choice of 2 similar cars - you would always choose the one with the bigger engine. See where I am going here? Even with a car of lesser spec (ugly perhaps) - a bigger engine will always win over a better car with a smaller engine. Taking the analogy to another level - the best engine is large and naturally aspirated. Turbo-charges engines are acceptable - but they are just little engines really, with some artificial help. (you dig). So - even a ugly car can find love - if it has a big engine. Ugly cars with little engines.. sorry - no love for you. BTW - I will probably be buying the ugly car with the big engine (535d) over the pretty and functional car with the little engine (A6 2.0d).

What about cars with only electric motors (e.g. Prius of Lexus 400H)? Any analogy for things running on batteries? B_T_S

I suppose underpowered 150hp 6 litre American V8's are the far too big variety. They may be big but they sure as hell are awful. As Beany says though, the small pert ones are just as nice as bigger ones. Saggy is just a no no.
