I normally love technology, but I'm not keen on this, for reasons I can't quite put my finger on...

Reeeeeee
Post.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.

Integrate it into a pair of good looking glasses and it'll be cool, as it stands, you'd just look a cnut wearing that.

Anyone that does wear a bluetooth headset is a total cnut. The arguement of i'm in a car without bluetooth doesn't wash since you can get a parrot bluetooth thing in your car for less than say £50.

The glass thing doesnt look great though...

Do not act as if thou wert going to live ten thousand years. Death hangs over thee. While thou livest, while it is in thy power, be good.

As seen on Twitter:

"Google Glass is like Segway for your face."

Cool idea, but you would look like a right thundering cunt wearing it.

MI5 have confirmed he had committed suicide using the traditional Russian method: He shot himself 3 times in the head then hid the gun.

Wearing one while driving - fair enough.

While walking down the street - cnut.

I think my neighbour misunderstood when I said 'I can't wait for the next 911'

I can see them being banned for driving, a distraction.

No different to a HUD that you find in many cars, so I am not sure you could use that argument.

Kinda sums up my thoughts on them, and why I'm not excited about their introduction. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Not a bad article, although describing things quite a way beyond the capabilities shown so far. Not many iterations away though, I'm sure.

The persistent video recording thing is interesting though. You can already get more subtle recording sunglasses (or these) and record away.

As this guy's videos show (vid1 vid2 vid3) people don't like having someone standing there, holding a camera pointing at them - despite often being in the field of numerous security cameras or in the background of other shots.

The sheer number of devices now produced capable of recording video means a good number of them will be running at any given time, and you're pretty likely to be recorded going about your business at some point.

Have to say, the "Entire History of You" episode of Black Mirror I found pretty disturbing. Not sure how you balance privacy and a society where everyone has recording devices.

Correct as ever. I do find it amusing when people hate something for the people who use it, rather than the usefulness of the device itself  - my only problem with Bluetooth headsets is I keep losing them.
