two interesting things dropped on my floormat this morning. my new copy of evo & an ISA savings statement, which is depressingly giving a paltry 3.3%. a quick look in the classifieds section & i saw this:
a concourse 3 door sierra cosworth with only 54k on the clock & £24k? must be able to return better than 3% & a lot more fun, is there a better (petrolhead) gamble for your savings?

The Cossie looks cool, but who's giving 3.3% on ISA's?

how much are escort cossie's at the minute??? surely worth a look. Potential of better return as 24k isnt exactly cheap now is it

No one by the look of it, highest I've seen is 2.8, Santander were doing 3.3 but they pulled it in July.

yes santander was who i was using, though it looks like i've got another excuse for taking it out if it's going down! good shout on the escort cossie but i'm thinking the sierra's contempories have steadily gone up so they might do the same? i can't beleive the price of e30 m3's & intergrale evo's these days....

most ISA deals come at the start of April when all the new products are launched its a lovely car the old whale tail cossie but at 24k i suspect its at its ceiling, maintenance/tax/insurance/test will kill any profit potentially

An E30 M3 could be yours for £22,000 according to this ad.
It has more miles but to me it does not make a £24,000 Sierra Cosworth look like a bargain.

I think I can still remember when people were saying all that about twin cam escorts it's a good point about running costs of course but man maths never allow such clear thinking! Perhaps after last nights racing legends tv programme a good Subaru would be a better long term unvestment?

In 1993 was offered a low mileage moonstone blue whale-tail Cossie from a finance firm - all I had to do was pay them what they were owed on it - £2300!
Didn't buy it as the insurance was £2000+ a year and I was only earning £12k at year at that time. Should have bought it and put it in the garage B_T_S

Then spend a good £25,000 repairing it when you decided to sell it again so that it's roadworthy. Result = Sweet FA.

Not quite Sales.
My neighbor is selling his minty non whale tail Sapphire for about 4k, not sure I'd want to spend £20k more on that one.
