Watching it at work with the sound off, but why did Mikkola (my childhood hero, for reference) de-sticker the Quattro when it retired?

Is that Dickie Davies? Lots of memories there and plenty of good links also (saved). Thanks for posting

Great vid... Although I prefer this Manx edition. Even if Snijers is a real *rse, he is responsable for at least one great drive! Manx

No doubt so he can drive it back on the roads, as it's illegal to have a number showing - although now they just put a line of black electrical tape through it to show they're not competing.

Got a link to this oft-mentioned law?

Can't believe my mate had a this correctness nearly 20 years ago:
His was the spit of this but with gunmetal GT/E alloys, it also had the 2.2 Cam in head Carlton engine with a big twin choke weber and would happily eat the GT/E. Used to drift for fun on wet roundabouts. He chopped it in for a bodykitted Rover 820 auto that ate gearboxes and wasn't really any good. Carl.

Great vid. Driving in the fog that fast - proper commitment I love the rivalry between Brookes, McRae and Pond.
