Not sure who I'm supposed to contact...

There was a recent thread about this in another forum in regards to US subscriptions. My question is this: If I subscribe to the magazine instead of buying each issue off the local stand will I then not be behind an issue? For example the latest issue available is 177 while the UK forum members are already talking about their issue 178.
