1. Take one Escort Cosworth.
2. Add copious amounts of power.
3. Sprinkle in a cold / grip-free track.
4. Select appropriate gear.
5. Mash throttle to floor on every tight corner, add a dab of oppo and voila ! Larking about in my Cossie I would add that because the camera has been moved to the back of the car (due to there now being two bucket seats fitted, so it is mounted to the rear head-rests) and zoomed in, it gives the appearance of being much closer to other cars on track .

Why were you black flagged for going sideways? Isn't that the point?

"Apparently" they organise specific "drift" days if you want to do that kind of thing (as you can hear them say when I come into the pits for my "telling off") .

Didn't watch that far ahead. That is stupid. As long as you're not holding up others or being dangerous what is the issue? When I become benevolent dictator for life (after usurping the throne from Rev) I will decree the above.

Surely if you "keep all four wheels pointing in the same direction" (as requested) you'll crash into the scenery at the first bend. Doesn't sound very safe.

That camera angle is weird - makes it look oddly slow when it's quite clear how much quicker you are than other cars, and makes it look like you're eating them when you overtake Apart from one rather lairy near-tankslapper, it didn't look worthy of black flagging at all.

I have known people to be black flagged for being to slow or trying to cause accidents with aggression, such as moving offline to block someone or similar.
But this is the first I have ever heard of someone black flagged for driving fast.

Which organiser? Javelin have always been pretty liberal about sideways antics as long as you look like you have half a clue and aren't being a tosser close to others.

I had the same thought actually. A couple of times you chew through two gears, but visually you don't appear to be going any faster at all.

LOLbird obviously has a 1.4 Escort and has dubbed over the sound and put space savers on the rears. Every other car was driven by grannies. That explains weird camera...

Black Flagging for that is very lame, although one did look like you were massively out of control the rest was barely sideways. What company was that with? I did a number of days with Track Action a few years ago. Organisers got to know me and told me he was having to tell the marshals "it's OK he's not going to crash" over the radios when they complained. This was ~9 years ago though so times may have changed. Also what g'box is that? It sounds excellently RACE!

I ran out of revs, so had no choice but to pull the next gear hence it snapping back. Nothing to worry about, all under control . And I agree entirely.
