The price is a bit  When I were a lad these were seen as a bit of a poor relation to the Escort.

And for good reason (both capability, and motorsport success). Nothing like the cachet of a Sunbeam Lotus / RS2000. I did quite fancy a Dolomite Sprint at one point though.... they were a relatively cheap rwd "thriller" back when I was at uni (although most were already rustbuckets).

They were around when I were a lad. I also remember the Firenza/Magnum and had the interesting experience of driving a Chevette HS. The Chevette was the only car I've ever driven that I genuinely thought was trying to kill me.

I assume you mean HS. The ES was a low-spec 1256cc monster
