Yes I hate the phrase too but there we go. I want to give the Roadster a proper clean and after seeing peoples results using clay bars I thought I'd give it a go, is it a case of you get what you pay for or is one bar as good as another? Are these detailing kits worth the money?

Meguiars Qwick Clay kit is all you need. Easy to use, not so aggressive as to let a newbie add paint defects and gets great results.

+1 on revs suggestion. Halfrauds stock it, and the results are worth the expense IMO.

I also went the whole hog and used the Meguiars polishes and wax afterwards, brilliant finish which lasts for ages.

Try a friend of mine called Mark who owns and runs "More than Polish". Explain what you want to do and he will have the right product or will point you in the direction of the best.

Autoglym clay bar also is very good. AG now also do a pre wax HD cleanser which is pretty much the same thing but in pure liquid form.
