What cars currently in production use them? Are they dead now?

--

How are you doing? Is you good becos' I want to know.

Range Rovers

Not a lot but I bet they come back ;)

I was thinking about this too this week.

Best I could come up with was Audi S4/5

The top of the range Jag engine is supercharged so are the Shelby Mustangs iirc.

ZR1 is charged from factory. Not sure how much longer it'll be in production though.

Yup, and the Camaro ZL1 and Caddy CTS-V.
So the Yanks still like them, basically!

Never realised Gilles was a Southern fanny though. He seemed like such a decent chap. I shall eye him with suspicion from this day forth ;)

So to answer cc's question, loads and not yet.

The faint reek of desperation?

Still loads of small engined Mercs using them. So, not dead and probably more made than ever.

ETA: Merc might actually have stopped making the supercharged engines now; they were replaced in the C-class in 2010 with turbos, and I think every other car in the range has been updated since then.

I did wonder about that before posting. I'm guessing that the odd Evora S is still leaving the factory though?

I remember reading an old brochure for the G40 and G60 which said that supercharging had no detrimental effect on MPG. I'm clueless on technical stuff but I'm going to assume that's b0llocks though.
