NEC: WHAT MOBILE / OPERATOR?
Previous | 1 | Next

Hi all,

No watches will be awarded for this thread.

Anyways. I have a phone that is very old and now turns me in to a Darlek on every other call.

I'm currently on an O2 simplicity deal - monthly contract SIM only.

So - my question is what phone/carrier should I be looking at? I'll need about 10-12hrs talk time per month, lots and LOTS of emailing/drop-box accessing etc. Quite fancy going from a 5yr old phone to something really spangly (thinking S3 / Note) but haven't really been able to try any of them. I'm not an iFan and someone would have to persuade me why having apps (games etc that I just won't ever use) is more important than a sexy sized screen which I'd use as a my day-to-day email typer-upper.

Oh, and I won't buy anything from the thieving deceitful bunch of toe-rags that are HTC. Ever.

As I'm well out of the loop on new stuff I hope there will be some peeps here to help me!

Jon

How much do you want to pay?

Quidco have some good cash back deals with Vodafone at the moment - some deals on the S3 too.

Well as little as possible really! I've never had a contract for more than 12 months - I'm a little edgy about the whole 24 month thing, especially as a phone never seems to last more than 12/18 months with me anyway!

I'm currently paying £25/month - 600 mins, unlimited MMS/SMS/Interwebs. Saying that, the last bill floored me at £100!  Supposedly it was mostly 0844/0845 numbers:(.

I have no idea how much data 1Gb is, which is what I'm likely to get unless I go with 3. I d/l attachments, use the web (a LOT), would undoubtedly use iPlayer or somesuch on it. Last I heard though was that 3 were horrible. Still true?

Galaxy S2 or 3, I'm with O2, 600 minutes, unlimited text and 500mb internet which despite me being on it all day everyday I've never come close to going over. £27 a month.
