No idea why at the moment but I have never pulled a battery lead off so fast. I actually cut it with parrot nose pliers but when the cabin fills with the smell of smoke you don't half move.

It was the engineless Escort, looking like the ECU or battery circuitry has gone pop under no load. Not altered the electrics for some time so I'm thinking something has failed prematurely.
