VAUXHALL'S 500/MINI/A1 RIVAL TO BE CALLED...

Cool!

And there goes the very last shred of Vauxhalls dignity. Can they really only manage late copycat models now? I think the last interesting or original thing they did was the Zafira's flex 7 seats.

The best thing that Vauxhall could ever do, is drop the name and the griffin badge and "re-brand" as Opel and use the Opel logos.

Why does anyone end up buying a Vauxhall, whilst alternatives exist?

 Not cool.

8Ball, aka Adam.

Give 'em credit, the VXR brand is pretty good. Could this be another Griff Rhys Jones in pants style advertising faux pas? :D

Edit to agree with Pug - I've got no real problem with Vauxhall's range at the mo. But it's not the most inspiring.

Apparently the current Astra is a very good car.

But the brand carries such a stigma...

Presumably they're calling it that because that's also what Opel are calling it as in Adam Opel AG, the parent company.

This.
I've always thought of Vauxhall as a slightly more upmarket Ford, but somehow more crap.

I've never understood this argument. Vauxhall have never built a successful race car or supercar in the way Ford have. Nor do Vauxhall cover such a wide variety of Motorsport and market sectors. It's just stemmed from a vague likeness between the old saloon cars which happened to be if a similar price in certain areas but that's about it, they're not comparable brands.

VXR is only good because of the Holden connection. It doesn't matter what you do to a Corsa, at the end of all the hard work you're still lift with a FWD sled that is a Coars-a. I think the inky reason oils buy them is because they're so cheap on finance/company car policies/leasing.

Isn't nearly everyone on here called Dave. And those that aren't, Mike or Simon?

Ok put it another way - Ford do well made, fun to drive crap cars. Vauxhall do badly made, duff handling, good cars.

Caneswell does not want to own Adam Vauxhall.

Could be a good car if it's based on the 500 chassis.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.

Why would it be based on the 500 chassis, does GM now own a share in Fiat?

Except for the Matt's.

For the record, I am neither of the above. :D
