The photo in my avatar was taken at Christmas in 2010. Andaman Islands, which was very nice, but quite remote. The rest of India is good at that time of year.

The Carribean is pretty nice in winter, high 20's and dry. Look on Owners Direct for a villa or apartment - flights are pretty frequent to the bigger islands with Virgin/BA. Barbados is lovely, if a little developed, Antigua is more 'rustic' but quieter and less 'flashy'.

Plus points: See many places you may never have been or wanted to. Its sunny. Negative points: Far too many to list but I must say it was something I'm glad I did, once.

I await the barrage of its crap comments, but I goto Fuerteventura at Xmas. low to mid 20s. Slow pace of life Most parts arent overly developed.

Andy, this is evo - you can only recommend places that require at least an 18hr flight to get to.

The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on.

Barbados. Expensive over Christmas though - go a little later if you don't have kids. Direct flights too. Check www.vrbo.com to find places - hotels are v v expensive, so apartments FTW. Good supermarkets for supplies. South coast is a bit downmarket, except the Crane, West coast FTW. Chris

Barbados at christmas is nice however you get a lot of folk who go every year and where we stayed they sorta took over. And were cliquey and loud. Also while Im on about it the natives were polite without meaning it. 'Your welcome' but really thinking fck right off. Oh and they were slow, like a doped up teenager. I liked it apart from that.
