It's the selector fork I mentioned earlier, the main weakness of the car to be honest, that and the standard interwarmer

Where was this invitation when I just had the R26?! It's a great car as well I tell ye! I am planning to use it as much as possible, so I might well take you up on that offer. Are you coming on the 15th?

How big a job is a selector fork replacement? I presume pretty big. The rear toe links are worn, so they will need doing sooner rather than later. Shouldn't be a massive one, but obviously will cost a bit as I presume the car will need a geo after as well. I've got my eyes open to the fact that it's a low volume car so will need money spending to keep it ship shape. Worth it though.

+1 I was expecting a Caterfield. That’s excellent Duns, I would love a lime green Exige S2 at some point. Let me know if you ever pop down to Brighton coast. You didn’t buy it off a chap called Rick did you? (Don’t think so cos you mentioned it’s wearing T1-Rs and IIRC Rick’s was wearing AD08s)

I still want a Caterfield somewhere down the line, but I thought this would be better for what I want it for at the moment. I nearly bought one from a guy called Rick up in Cheshire funnily enough, it looked lovely (Chrome Orange and Sports / Touring packs), but unfortunately it sold to France before I had the cash. Think it was the same guy?

^^^ Hmmm, don’t think it’s the same chap then. I’m sure the Rick that I know lives in London (hence the connection to you/your car). Only met him once; I had a good look at his car last year when I was at friend’s engagement party.

Nice write up Duncs. Sounds lovely, although it is a shame you don't get to modify your pedals for H&T. Can't have everything I guess. Top tip wrt the wing mirrors - one advantage of being so low. Before Marv asks - more pics and preferably vids required. Copy of the Telegraph required naturally.

Yeah, it took a bit of getting used to having everything else on the road towering over me. Makes even normal cars seem massive when you're sitting in it. Oh, I forgot to say... I had to laugh about the fact that I nearly broke it on the way home. I was doing a reasonable speed on the A32 and a Partridge ran out from my side, it was across to the other side of the road as I approached it, but a car coming in the other direction startled it and as I was nearing it it spun round and came back on to my side of the road. It flapped and scramble back towards the verge and I gave it as much room as I could (obviously couldn't get into the other lane because of the other car). Close one! Probably missed it by a few inches.

Duncs, this means you're missing out on THE LATEST PRISM TECHNOLOGY Nice write up. It must seem so different to the Megane Ps. Mik. Did you ever put up vids of your VXR8?

The standard interwarmer is actually very efficient and it takes lots of clever ducting to bring the charge temps down even on a larger Pro-alloy item. Even then, they run scarily high intake temps (compared to what we like to see on the Cossies), with temps in the high 60s being the (scary) norm for these cars even on an uprated and ducted air to air item (and "only" in the 70s with the standard unducted item).

Nice car! I can only hope there is more interior space (and height) than in a VX200 otherwise I will have to condemn it for lack of proper space and for not allowing passengers of above average stature.

I'm sure it'll be fine for a short run (he says, hopefully)

When I was buying it the guy asked me how I felt about buying a car like that on April fools day. It hadn't occurred to me up until that point.
