Anyone on here had one or experience of one?
If all goes well should be getting one over the weekend to replace the Saxo.
From what i have read they look to be good fun to drive and reliable.
Really cheap to insure too, my insurance halves from what im paying now and the figures suggest it's quicker and better on fuel.
Just the looks im not too sure on but i'm sure i'll get over them

I was looking at them in the classifieds a few weeks ago after the PH Carpool feature on them. Seem like good wee cars, and just in time for the first 'evo' car feature!

I'd be interested in how you get on with it. Bit like a Swift Sport on a budget.

Purchased
Pick up Monday shall do a surprisingly costly end of term on the Saxo Tuesday.
Will miss it, done 24000 miles in 18 months and gelled with it a lot.
Good first impressions of the Ignis, changes direction quicker than the Saxo, faster and has air con (never had it in a car )
Revs to over 7k without complaint and a good gearbox to keep it in high lift (vvti) got to speed quickly. Brakes feel weird compared to Saxo. Effective but well over servod. Cool Recaro seats though, really looking forward to picking it up.

Picked up today
Really like it, feels like a bigger, faster Saxo.
Suspension is VERY hard which is good for handling, bad for speedbumps!
Felt nice on motorway too, much more planted than my Saxo.
Had a play with a ST170 on the way home and it couldn't get away from me at all! Very surprised so far (in a good way)

I haven't updated this as it just works!
It's proven very reliable, a rear spring cracked just after I bought it so I replaced all 4 for £100 and gave it a service and that's all It's cost me.
Went to Newquay in it week after we picked it up, carried both me and the other half in comfort the full 5 hour journey no problems.
It's also a lot of fun and pretty quick for what it is.
Had a play with a 500 Abarth yesterday and he couldn't pull any advantage at all me on straights and I could corner a fair bit quicker than him and I have rubbish tigar tyres on which came with the car.
If you get to the northern meet your welcome to have a go in it.
I really like it.
Averaging a calculated 40 mpg on a 5 mile each way commute as well.

I had a go in the yellow road rally version a few years back - good fun but not as focused as the Trophy. Brilliant little car for the money and very chuckable, sure you will have a blast in it!

They are an earlier version of the Panda 100HP. Quirky looks and a buzzbomb engine. I love 'em.

Well I think its time with me might be up
I have really enjoyed owning it and its the only car which has not ever cost me anything except a service.
Thinking of getting a MX5 and a Alfa 147 to replace it so will have a practical and a fun car.
Great on fuel and surprisingly quick through 30-70, acceleration tails off after 100 as you would expect in a brick.
Superb handling and decent steering feedback for electric steering, almost as good as my Saxo was, can corner at much higher speeds than the Saxo ever could as well.
Would stick a for sells up on here but looking at the machinery everyone has I don't see it finding a home on here

Shame it's going Have you considered anything other than the 147? cos that thing will probably cost more than just a service!

I've test drove loads of stuff.
Will be a facelift 2.0 5 door 147 I think I'll end up with.
Really wanted a RX8 but i can't justify the fuel for the performance.
Would like to try a Focus ST170 before I buy the Alfa but I can't find q decent one local.

Focus ST170s - everyone I know who has tried one has found it to be a bit dull, and doesn't feel like it has 170bhp. Or that it's particularly sporting. Guy at work reckoned it was an old mans car, and he's in his 60s.

Not to disagree with Beany's anecdotal evidence but I quite liked the ST170 I had. It was a comfy runaround that would take an utter thrashing when you were in the mood. Most mk1 focuses are getting rough now though.

As long as it will be a bit more interesting than a normal 2.0 focus which I found a decent car to drive it should be fine for day to day duty.
I will ideally be turbocharging whatever MX5 I buy so will have a fun weekend car I just don't want a completely boring daily.

Why is it's time up, out of interest? I'd quite like to buy it off you, if I had the money to do so, if I actually needed a car and if you didn't live, in all likelyhood, quite a long way from me.

I've wanted a MX5 for ages and now I can justify 2 cars I'm finally getting one.
I couldn't run one as an only car as its not practical.
I also have a lot of things I want to do to it so it won't see the road for a while once I find a decent base.
I will miss the Ignis, need a bit bigger car now family are getting older, getting my grandparents in th back of the Ignis is pretty difficult unfortunately and I take them shopping every week so a 5 door will be a big help.
