Looks like they are really going to start pushing the Xbox as a media centre linky. Especially looking forward to the Lovefilm streaming. If it all works as it should I may just cancel my cable subscription.

Looking forward to this but I do wish it was a proper global media center - in America they get a massive amount of extra channels and content.

It was delayed. Mines updated this morning, I had a quick play with it before I left for work. The new UI is nice, it's obviously taken it's inspiration from the windows 7 mobile OS. I wouldn't say it's any more functional than the one it replaced but it looks fresh, which is nice. The lovefilm streaming is pretty cool, there's a decent library of films. It's only standard def but that doesn't bother me. I can't see me using the social networking apps anymore than I did before. Overall it seems like a good base to build from, which is what it's intended as after all.

My Brother-in-Law (as of the weekend) was on the Beta test and I thought it looked pretty good.

PS3 has had Lovefilm, iPlayer etc for years? All with HD option, so hardly gamechanging, more like game-catching-up (barely). Will update today to prevent a lengthy delay next time I actually want to play something on it.

Actually Sky Anytime Plus is handy for those like me who have Sky, but not Sky broadband. Download was quite quick too. Not bad.

Finally catching up with the PS3 Too little too late though as this generation of consoles have got just over a year left before they are replaced.
