I don't know anyone that doesn't have a low opinion of the planning process, no matter where they fall in its machinations. It's interesting stuff though chaps, reading what you're all doing. I don't think anything we intend to do at our prospective place come anywhere close in terms of the scale of works.

I prefer the back to front, I suppose the danger is it's going to look completely different to the other houses in the street. Looks a cool design though.

What about the front is off putting? Pretty much stuck with what we've got tbh. Virtually all the houses in the street have had varying degrees of change and a newer development opposite is nothing like the originals so I'm not bothered about keeping with the vernacular

Google sketchup has just been sold... (not that this relates to the house build in any way). Update on progress?

I ordered the windows, got a spectacular one day offer (clearly a month end target attempt) from velfac so I pushed the button Still chasing builders to get prices, haggling over kitchens, clearing building control queries, hope to have work starting ASAP but likely be June, maybe end may at a push for the destruct and down takings all going well. I tried to host the plans but the likes of photobucket is hopeless!

Glad you like it Dave! Hopefully we're making the most of the house and its plot.

Trying to get a breakdown, but If they all come in similar then the work ain't happening, what we paid for the house and what it will be worth are just too far apart.. Not that we are looking to sell straight away but it's an important consideration! My o/h is high as a kite obviously 22 grand of vat doesnt help
