Thought I'd share this vid of the west circuit and how not to drive round it! It's the same circuit that evo use to test their cars and is absolutely brilliant fun. Definately recommend this to anyone looking to do a track day. Vid was from the new Club MSV How Fast day on Monday just gone.. Anyone from here make it? Were some stunning cars Cheers all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqkZTWPx25c

ahhh thanks mate lol wasn't intending it to be so drifty as it was a timed event but seemed to have more fun going sideways/nearly loosing it! Usually i'd get black flagged for driving like that so tried to make the most of it

Looked brilliant fun - any external pictures of your car, spec details etc? How did your time fair against what else was there? Do I correctly assume by how some of the run-off areas was coned off, that hitting these would void your times, or was it just to attempt you to keep off certain areas?

Hey Mike,
Yeah it was great fun and you're spot on about the cones! Here's a pic if it works:
I bought the car with the mods done..- it would have cost a fortune to get it to the spec it is! It still runs a standard bottom end but everything else has been upgraded pretty much.. brakes, susp, ecu, fueling etc.. making 409@hubs
Amazed i havent broken it yet! My time was 1:23.4 so just quicker than when evo tested the 997 GT2.. Amazed at my time compared to lots of the supercars evo test! More so because i was running £25 a corner part worns that were completely worn out 2 track days ago!!
I'm guessing it was raining when they tested everything that has a slower time than my old datsun!

Looks great fun Sam! The best colour for an R32 GTR - just like the 'CAR' article in 1990 by Gavin Green

Mike1215 - aww thanks - it's funny but it seems most folk don't know what it is and say it doesn't look anything special! I'd love to see a copy of the 1990 review..
It's incredible to think these cars were going so quick 20 years ago.. Must have been so cool to have a Datsun with 500bhp in 1990!!
Cheers,
Sam

No R32 Sam, just meant I like cars that don't stand out Good work on the time at Bedford - properly going to beat a GT2 driven by an EVO journo!

Hey Mike,
Ah I see! Yeah me too about cars that look understated... I used to have a Nissan sunny and although it handled like a pig it had 320bhp and 320 lbft so surprised a lot of people!
Frankly I'm amazed about the lap time at Bedford.. I'm sure evo must test their cars at 8 tenths as there's no way my old shed is quicker than a 997 gt2!
Cheers,
Sam

Sammyturbo - yeah it's quite "lively" in the wet!!
In feb i did a track day at lydden hill and it was soaking wet! I struggled and I'd only had the car a couple of months so was even more all over the place than in the other vid.. My friend in a subaru spec c(420bhp) was massively quicker!
He got some footage if you'd like to see it? Mike the camera is a Panasonic SD9 tripple ccd camera if that means anything?
Igot it from ebay second hand as they had stopped making them at the time.. Really great for trackdays and has a remote too The thing I love about the 32 GTR is the ability to remove a fuse and just have rear drive without damaging anything(not the case in later skylines)..
I love being able to (try and) do this: (Not sure if link will work unless you copy and paste) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eA1pFKAK1U Cheers,
Sam
