Noice So M3 with an M5 engine? 3.6 rather than 3.8, I take it? Anyway, glad to see it's coming together nicely Dave

Marv, I will get the number off the engine and see what is actually is. I have a gut feeling its of E34 vintage. It feels ludicrously potent I must say. Really gives the impression of huge shove just waiting at the prod of your right foot And that was just driving it off the trailer!

It's a 3.6 lump out of an E34 M5. 315bhp in a stripped E30 shell should be sufficient I hope Cheers,
Bryn.

I suggest that we all gather at Flewy's new premises and hold a forum housewarming where Bryn will give rides in the M3 (Once Flewy has worked his magic)!

Early November. Couple more pics of the booth. Its ready for the electrician and lighting on thursday

Now, on to Project 1.0 the M3/M5 hybrid I need to position a new 50mm core radiator in what little space there is left between the engine and the back of the front bumper Its a busy engine bay to say the least!

The oil cooler also needs relocating, from its rather exposed current position

More soon

The standard m3 oil cooler bolts to the two holes with the clip in captive nut things on the crossmember, strange that one doesn't unless the rad hang down into tha space. Always fancied doing an s50'd m3, but the engine would end up dominating rather than adding to the character. Would be awesome from a fun poor of view though. Wonder how the e36 m3 s50 compares to the e34 m5 lumps? Similar power but the s50 might be a little shorter and a little lighter? Probably a lot cheaper too!

I think the oil cooler is where it is because of the pipework routing, but it's not staying there anyway! The S38 weighs about 20kg more than an M50 engine but the block is bigger so weight will be unavoidably more toward the front Good for a dab of oppo though The S50 out of the E36 M3 is lighter but usually down on power, and the S62 V8 engine out of the E39 M5 is about the same weight as the S38 but I'm not even sure if it would physically fit in! The S38 wasn't my choice anyway, that's how I bought it. I'm not complaining though, it's a great engine Cheers,
Bryn.
