BIT OF FUN - CARS THAT LOOK BETTER AS A CONVERTIBLE.
Previous | 1234 | Next

Right, here are the rules:

The car must have been released as both a hard top and soft top, and the soft top has to BETTER looking than the hard top (not just good looking, or as good looking û better).

IÆve been thinking this over, and the only cars that I can think of at the moment are:

Alfa Brera
306 convertible

Feel free to add to the list!

Ferrari F40.

BMW Z3 and Z coupe.

The Z3 is a bit of a debatable one, but the Z4 Coupe is far better looking than the conv.

Tough one; IÆd call that slightly in favour of the coupe (theyÆre both pretty ugly to be honest, but the coupe is at least interesting looking).

The Z4 coupe is a much better looking car than the roadster though!

I can't think of a single vehicle where I prefer the drop-top.

Even the XJS? (actually that's the only one I can think of)

Impreza WRX STi Spec-C V-Limited Toshi Arai Edition/ GTR/ Panda 100HP Pandamonium/ Insignia CDTi 160

This would be in my dream garage and has various states of roof undress and so wins the thread. ;)

Not in my eyes ~ the flying buttresses never upset me as much as they did others.

I considered the E-Type too - double checked via google images - and subsequently dismissed that too.

it's from behind where the cab looks better than the coupe IMO:

Actually I did like the XJS coupe a lot more in its final guise with the revised side windows. Much cleaner, and the shape the buttresses give the rear view was always good.

edit:- agree with the E-Type

Murcielago?

I love the XJS buttresses, e-type is correct though imo.

I'd rather have a Lotus Elan conv than coupe.
