About 800 contractors / agency staff were layed off at Jaguar last Friday.

Thing is if they are to develop new products they will have to hire again in the new Year.

Easily the worst period that I have seen since I started contracting in 99.

Hi, I read your content its really amazing and interesting, V london escort girls are too passionate and stylish, they are spend a beautiful time with you, thanks for sharing.

Mick, what do you think about JLR long term? Or can you not say?

I think the XF/XJ look great, and the Evoque is selling by the bucket load, but are they big enough to do the high-tech development on their own? And how long can they keep going with Ford engines - is there an end point on that contract, or is it indefinite.

Bugger. Not a great start to the year for them:(

You might want to check the dates of the earlier posts Giles.

I fell for that too

Presumably they'll be sacking more workers soon, as their CEO says their cars don't need developing

Just cause the US and the UK are in the scheiße doesn't mean everyone else is as bad as the you guys, it is scary how much debt you have accumulated. While I am sure many of the UK petrolheads loved buying all these cheap cars over the last decade with the strong pound, as an exporter that is a disadvantage.

The emerging markets in the Far East are a god send to the "British" manufacturers at the moment. It's not just JLR but Bentley, Rolls etc are all benefiting.

The LR chassis' are very similar in ethos to the ones they replaced, a select few chassis' underpin the range. The Disco and RR share one, the freelander and evoque share another which is loosely based on a Mondeo's hard points. They were developed in the late '90s but still have plenty of life left in them yet. It's a good formula particularly as they've can now move defender production to a developing country and save a small fortune on build costs (that and their parent company supplying steel at preferential rates)

They're also recruiting graduates by the tonnage so they've got a lot of young minds who have a good view of the market and are able to reflect their work on current social trends ie what people expect from a car to keep it moving forward ahead of the competition

Quite a strong mix.

Ha, that confused me, I knew I'd read something about 800 jobs at JLR recently http://www.motoring.co.uk/car-news/jaguar-landrover-success-creates-800-jobs_52277:lol:
