Golf: New gear linkage arrived today to try and tighten up the change and improve the shift into 1st. New number plates also turned up to tidy up the exterior. Once clean it looks 4 years old not 14 Porsche: New number plates turned up. I hate advertising that I'm not being paid for. i.e. a previous supplying dealer

Hardly surprising with a 0.63! What's happened to the fuelling?

Ben, who did you get your plates from? Are they standard font and size? Last set I had made (for the Mazda), the 8s they used were slightly blockier than usual so I don't like the look of them, but they were the only place I found which did legal cut-down sizes.

That would be quite laggy on a 2l, let alone a 1.4. When does it start boosting ?

Fair enough - what does it rev to again ? The Fiat was properly boosting by 3.5k, which although fairly late still gave you 3.5k to play with.

Not deliberately! It didn't sound to be revving all that hard, and had only just come on boost....

Just about to do a long trip and my turbo outlet pipe is looking a little dodgy, I have a small split through the first outer layer of rubber so think I'll order a set of black silicon hoses for it soon. A fair few pumps of grease into the propshafts and a check over before my journey and all is well in Land Rover land Dave!

Its a 1400 pushrod. How hard would you like it to sound when revving ?

Its a turbot from the 80s. I suspect the fact that mine has 4 tyres is the only similarity between what you were expecting and what you got

I actually really liked it, i'd just got carried away and hadn't realised it was running out of revs.
It revved more freely than I expected - the last Turbo I drove was a 2.0 TFSI with a low pressure turbo, and it didn't rev like that!
