NEC - SQUEEZEBOX ALARM CLOCK REPLACEMENT
Previous | 1 | Next

Annoyingly the squeezebox app is no longer supported on iOS so we're looking for a new radio alarm clock that we can play podcasts through. (I'm not interested in hacking it or anything.)

I'd just get a Sonos but the Mrs want's an alarm clock so I need something that sounds good and integrates well with iOS.

Any suggestions?

SONOS now has an alarm clock FWIW.

Doesn't everyone in the western world use their mobile as their alarm clock now? :?

No. I'd much rather wake up to the sound of the radio than the awful alarms on my phone

Sonos has always had an alarm clock from what I can recall? I wake up to mine every day. Anyway, one of those. They're awesome.

Now work with Amazon Alexa too, if that's your thing.

I have learned something new today.

I have my tv turn on showing pre recorded clips of me singing.

How about not having a sig at all?

Cheapest solution would be £5.99 for iPeng 9, which does work on iOS 11.

Yes. In the app on your phone. You can choose what it plays too, whether from your collection, Spotify etc or Radio 2.

Indeed. I use it to play music to wake me up.

I'd love to see my wife's face if my music woke us up in the morning

Amazon Echo or Sonos or whatever with one of these next to it:

(Just the clock, not Ironman - it was just the best pic I could find)

Pure do their Siesta alarm clock with bluetooth now clicky

They have a neat auto-dimming display so it stays visible without being a beacon in a dark room. Least annoying alarm clock I've ever seen.

Thanks Simon, I'll suggest it. Would reduce the number of user interfaces
